No Age Limit in Tech: Breaking the Silence on Ageism in IT

Too old. Too experienced. Too close to retirement. These are the silent walls of ageism in IT. It’s illegal. It’s invisible.. It's silent…and it’s out of control. Let's speak up this Wednesday!
I’m 54. And no, I’m not “over the hill.” I’m just getting started.
I’ve seen the IT industry evolve through countless waves of change and like thousands of others, I’m proof that skills evolve, wisdom grows and experience makes us stronger.
Yet too many of us are shut out, not because of our ability - but because of a birth date.
The unconscious bias and stigmas are both silent and deafening at the same time. These are the quiet phrases that exclude skilled professionals every day:
“They’re too experienced - overqualified.”
“They won’t keep up with new tech.”
“They’ll want too much money.”
“They won’t fit into a young, dynamic team.”
“They’re close to retirement - not worth investing in.”
“They don’t have the energy younger workers do.”
“They won’t work well under a younger manager.”
“They’re past their prime.”
"They won't vibe with the culture."
These aren’t just words - they’re bias, and they’re shutting people out of the future of IT.
So, this Wednesday 3 September, let's break the silence together.
Here’s how you can lift our voice:
✅ Post a close-up selfie.
✅ Use the hashtag #NoAgeLimitInTech.
✅ Add a protest line or tell your story of ageism in IT.
This isn’t corporate. It isn’t polished. It’s real, raw and people-powered.
On 03.09.2025, let’s flood LinkedIn with faces and voices that prove:
There is #NoAgeLimitInTech.
💛 Are you in?
