Executive portfolio clarity: helping leadership teams see what their investment portfolios are actually doing.

Who they are

What Nsight does.

Nsight is Michael Aizicowitz's advisory firm in Melbourne. Michael is an Executive Portfolio Clarity Advisor. He helps leadership teams see what their investment portfolios are actually doing, which is often different from what the reporting shows. When the reporting says green, delivery feels red and millions are being spent without a clear answer on value, his work comes back to five questions: are we investing in the right things, prioritising the right things, delivering the right things and measuring the right outcomes, and how do we know?

Michael trained in accounting, audit, risk and banking before moving into transformation, so his first question is why you're investing in something and what evidence supports it, rather than whether the project is on track. His work includes AGL's $400M annual portfolio and $300M flagship program, where the CEO adopted his value models for board and media communications; best-in-bank forecast accuracy at ANZ, within 5% of budget; and Australia Post, $80M a year and more than $500M over the life of the program. Momentum Energy and Asahi add further depth.

Services

  • Portfolio Health Check: a two-week, fixed-price diagnostic that ends in an executive readout. The lowest-risk first step
  • Executive Portfolio Advisor (Head of Value): an embedded role, usually 2 to 5 days a week for 6 to 18 months, covering portfolio visibility, value realisation and investment decisions
  • Strategic Alignment Intervention: 4 to 12 weeks for when strategy has changed but the portfolio hasn't
  • Program Recovery: an interim engagement that helps the executive team trust what they're seeing again
  • Fractional Leadership: 1 to 2 days a week for organisations with $50M to $200M in revenue and a real transformation underway
  • Flying Blind: a free, five-question self-assessment on the Nsight website, a good place to start

A good fit when

  • The reporting says green, but delivery feels red
  • There's a new CEO or CFO, a strategy refresh or a merger, and the portfolio hasn't caught up
  • The board wants to know where the value is in a large transformation spend
  • Executives have lost confidence in what their program reporting is telling them
